35 mm Slide / Negative scanning
We use the top of the line Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED film scanner (Released October 28, 2003) that can produce
up to 48 bit color images with a 4000 dpi (dots per inch) optical resolution. The ICE4 technology (much improved over ICE3)
removes dust and scratches from your slides.
ICE4 removes dust and scratches from images (Highly Recommended).
Images can be created in either Tiff, JPEG, or Bitmap formats (24 bit color)
or Tiff format (48 bit color).
Cropping of images to content is included in the price.
There is a $ 20 minimum scanning order.
Materials are shipped back by courier (UPS, Purolator, or FedEx) for $ 25 or
via Canada Post for $ 20.
There is
NO
charge for burning to CD or DVD if JPEG
(compressed image format) is used.
The cost of burning images if Tiff or BMP formats (uncompressed image format)
are used would be:
$ 5.00 per CD (each CD will hold 700 MegaBytes of data).
$ 8.00 per DVD (each DVD will hold 4700 MegaBytes of data).

* Uncompressed TIFF format file size. 48 bit color images are twice the file size.
JPEG format sizes are smaller but should only be used for a final format.
Each time a JPEG format image is changed and saved it is degraded. TIFF
format image files do not degrade when changed and saved.
